Material Care Guide

Each Woodsie Wonder piece is made from solid oak and treated with natural, child-safe finishes. Oak is a living material. It responds gently to touch, temperature and time. With a bit of care, it will age well and remain part of your home for many years.

Everyday Care

A soft, damp cloth is enough for care. Avoid aggressive or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish. Wipe spills promptly and keep the piece away from water or prolonged moisture.

Placement & Environment

Solid oak is resilient but sensitive to extremes. Keep each piece at a comfortable distance from radiators, heaters or stoves to avoid drying or cracking. High or fluctuating humidity may cause natural expansion or subtle movement over time. Avoid constant direct sunlight, which can lead to uneven colour changes.

Aging & Patina

Oak develops a gentle patina as it lives in your home. Small marks, shifts in tone and visible grain variations are part of its character. These signs of life do not affect durability.

Maintenance Over Time

All oiled finishes, including Natural, Brown and all coloured accent pieces, can be refreshed over time. If the surface looks dry or matte, a light reapplication of a child-safe oil will restore depth and protection. For deeper marks, gentle sanding before re-oiling is possible. The Black finish is a matte lacquer and does not require re-oiling.

Handle with care

Although made from solid oak, our pieces benefit from gentle handling. Avoid dragging them across the floor and always use them as intended to preserve both stability and surface quality.
